A Long Island woman made her opinion of infidelity quite clear early yesterday when she used a sword to chop two fingertips off an escort girl she discovered in bed with her husband, police said.
The “other” woman, Delores Andrews, 32, a brand-new employee of the Platinum Club Escort Service in Islandia, was rushed to Huntington Hospital, where doctors reattached the two tips.
The furious wife, Euadne Legrottaglie, 43, who works as a developmental aide, was charged with felony assault.
Her husband, Peter, 42, ran off before police showed up, but returned to his Winchester Road home later and promptly declared himself the victim in the sordid mess.
“All I got to say is: I got f-ked over,” he asserted as he rushed inside with his two young daughters, who had not been home when he was caught in the act.
Suffolk County cops say that when Mrs. Legrottaglie returned to her Lake Ronkonkoma home at about 12:15 a.m., she found Andrews and her husband in bed, stripped down to their birthday suits.
“They’re not in the act, but they’re naked,” recounted Detective Sgt. James Burke.
With Legrottaglie at an apparent loss for words, his wife quickly grabbed a samurai sword on display in the dining room, cops said.
“Mrs. Legrottaglie is swinging the sword, and Ms. Andrews goes to grab the blade to protect herself and sustains her injuries,” Burke said.
Still stark-naked, Andrews fled in horror – the scorned wife on her heels – and into a car whose driver had taken her to the house and was waiting for her to finish with the husband, police said.
Legrottaglie told The Post he was thrown out of the house.
“I had to go to my mother’s,” he said.
But he defended his wife, saying she held the knife aloft but it was Andrews who grabbed at it – and cut her fingertips.
When police got to the house, they found the fingertips from Andrews’ left hand and rushed them to the hospital, where Andrews had already been taken by her driver.
Andrews later told police that Legrottaglie was her first customer for the Platinum Club.
Police said they have not ruled out a prostitution charge against Andrews.
Legrottaglie, who said he paid $230 for a half-hour with Andrews, regrets the entire encounter.
“I shouldn’t have brought her home,” he said last night.
Legrottaglie said his wife of 16 years works full-time and attends school at night.
He claimed his marriage has been on the rocks for a couple of months – which he blamed for sending him into the arms of a naked escort – but he hopes for a reconciliation.
“Let’s make it work,” he said he plans to tell his wife. “We’re a team. We’re soulmates.”
Residents, meanwhile, chipped in with their verdict, calling the husband guilty of stupidity.
“Don’t get caught with your hand in the breadbasket,” said one neighbor, James Herrmann. “Get a room. Don’t bring her home.”
Said another neighbor, Nick Vazquez: “How stupid can you be? In your own home?”
