KILLER SHOT DEAD IN SLEEPY HOLLOW

A crazed gunman was dead last night after carrying out a vow to “kill three guys” by slaying two men and critically wounding a third at a bakery in bucolic Sleepy Hollow.

Acting on a tip, police surrounded Janeiro Feliz, 30, in an alley near the home of a woman he had been stalking, police said.

Guns blazed and Feliz, who had a 12-gauge shotgun and a handgun, was killed, Westchester County District Attorney Jeanine Pirro said. It was not immediately clear whether he killed himself or died by a cop’s bullet.

“It appears the deceased was obsessed with the woman. He had been stalking her and another individual,” the DA said.

Wearing a dark trench coat and a baseball cap, Feliz walked into the Andes Bakery at 7:45 a.m. with the shotgun and killed Manuel Smith, a regular customer who had dated his girlfriend, cops said.

Then he backed out into the street and blasted two other men, one a former bakery worker, before fleeing.

The ex-employee was killed, and the third man was in critical condition at Westchester County Medical Center.

Feliz, who lived in Tarrytown, was cornered after cops using helicopters and police dogs searched for 11 hours.

During the hunt, students were ordered to stay in school and were released only to their parents or guardians.

The motive for the slayings wasn’t clear, but cops said Feliz and Smith had been involved in a dispute over a woman.

Smith had a court order of protection against Feliz, cops said.

Wilson Ureiles, who owns a masonry store a few doors from the bakery, said he saw Feliz walking around the center of town Thursday night talking to himself.

“He was walking around saying, ‘I’m going to kill three guys tomorrow.’ I thought he was joking or something,” Ureiles said.

Ureiles said that when he opened his store yesterday, he was stunned to see Feliz standing in the street with the shotgun.

“I can’t believe it. I can’t believe it,” he said.

Jessica Mejias, one of the owners of the bakery, said she got a frantic call from her workers saying there had been a shooting.

“They said, ‘Run, run. Somebody shot Manuel.'”

Yosmende Reyes, 15, said Feliz was his Little League baseball coach last summer.

“He was a good coach, but when you got him mad, he had a temper. If you didn’t do a good job, he would make you run around the track,” the teen said.
