‘WHO Wants to Be a Millionaire” host Regis Philbin is writing another book.
Philbin, who also co-hosts “Live with Regis & Kathie Lee,” is working on “Who Wants to Be Me?” for Disney-owned publisher Hyperion, which is cashing in on the “Millionaire” craze that’s already spawned two CD-ROMs and a Philbin-endorsed Van Heusen clothing line.
The book, a collection of Philbin’s thoughts and rants, will be published this and “promises to be the laugh-out-loud bestseller of the year!,” according to Hyperion.
“Some people might think that Regis is so popular because he has million of dollars to give away, but we know better,” says Hyperion senior vice president and managing director Robert S. Miller.
“It’s because he’s the funniest guy in the world. And this book will prove it!”
Hyperion says the book will contain Philbin’s thoughts on everything from men flirting with his wife Joy to uncooperative inanimate objects like chainsaws to buying embarrassing products at the drug store.
“And then there’s the time Regis’s wallet got stolen backstage at a taping of ‘Millionaire!,'” according to Hyperion.
Philbin’s previous book, “I’m Only One Man,” became a best-seller when it was published by Hyperion in 1995.
