The ex-wife of a top John Gotti lieutenant heads a swingers’ club that throws sex parties in a swanky Manhattan hotel, on yachts and at her New Jersey home, The Post has learned.
Laurene Maron, former wife of Gambino mobster Joseph “Joey” Watts, runs “Angel’s Couples,” a wife-swapping club that asks couples to donate $80 to attend its orgies.
Her most recent bash was a June 23 swingers’ party at the Delmonico Hotel. It was held in the Park Avenue hostelry’s 2,300-square-foot presidential suite – where there are “three large romp rooms, dance floor, living room and dining room,” according to a club flier obtained by The Post.
The affair included “free shooters,” or shots of alcohol, and a DJ, and promised to have on hand “three lovely bartenders to wet you” and “Big Don” for security, the flier read.
The flier also announced plans for a “champagne yacht party” and “pool and hot-tub party” in New Jersey.
Maron, 42, has a personal AOL Web page in which she describes herself as “5’8″ tall, blond hair, brown eyes, athletic in stature, with legs up to there,” and states that among her favorite things to do is “plan sexy parties for beautiful people.”
She also is seen smiling in a photo and notes that she spends time online “seeking attractive, exciting couples to join our group,” and provides a link to her swingers’ Web site.
On her club Web site, Angelscouples.com, she advises potential members that they “may meet judges, doctors, policemen and even schoolteachers” at her events.
Her club bars any man not accompanied by a woman from its parties, and she points out that swinging does not always mean sex, but can include “voyeurism, exhibitionism, soft touching and petting.”
In two phone conversations last week with a Post reporter whom she assumed was a prospective partygoer, Maron spoke openly about upcoming club events and the rules of membership.
Identifying herself as “Angel,” she acknowledged that she is Watts’ ex-wife, but she said she preferred not to have that widely known.
“I’m trying to stay incognito,” she confided.
Maron declined to discuss her marriage to Watts, which lasted from 1980 to 1996. She is now married to a dentist.
Maron said she has been a swinger for the past “five or six years.”
She told the caller she was planning an outdoor hot-tub party on July 14 in the back yard of her West Allenhurst, N.J., home and another event in the presidential suite of a Manhattan hotel on Aug. 25.
A Delmonico Hotel staffer confirmed that its presidential suites 28 A and B had been booked by Maron last June 23, and said she has reserved the same two suites for Aug. 25.
“You have to be invited as a couple,” Maron told the caller. “As long as you have a woman attached to you, you’re OK.”
Maron also said she likes potential members to send photos with their online membership applications.
In a third conversation with the caller – who at this point made it clear he was a Post reporter – Maron confirmed that she was Watts’ ex-wife and the force behind “Angel’s Couples.”
Maron testified last week at ex-hubby Watts’ money-laundering trial in Brooklyn and was grilled about living in a sprawling Sarasota, Fla., compound with him between 1984 and 1989.
When asked about her appearance at the trial, she said, “I’d rather not talk about that.”
It was not Maron’s first appearance in the storied Brooklyn courthouse.
In 1994, she was convicted by a Brooklyn jury of lying on a mortgage application to get a $195,000 home-improvement loan, but a judge later overturned the verdict.
Watts, 60, allegedly was one of the hit men who helped Gotti rub out Gambino boss Paul Castellano – paving the way for Gotti to take control of the mob family.
