Scotland Yard wants Great Britain’s Prince William to help them ID more than $10 million in objects allegedly stolen by his late mum’s butler, The Mail on Sunday reports.
Detectives say Paul Burrell used his insider job in the royal household to swipe Princess Diana’s private letters and pictures, including notes William and his brother Harry wrote to her before her 1997 death.
Police, who searched Burrell’s home for 12 hours in January, say Burrell stole much of Di’s priceless record collection.
William will be asked to identify the albums – most of which are autographed by famous musicians – in hopes of shedding light on how Burrell obtained them.
Despite his participation in the probe, Wills is said to support Burrell, who is now free on bail.
