“BIG Brother 2″ is back from the dead.
The much ballyhooed reality show has bounced back in the ratings after its third episode and appears to be building an audience – helped by a lot of raunchy talk among the house guests and a potentially dangerous confrontation.
About 8.3 million people watched Tuesday night’s installment – up a little over its debut and way up over its Saturday night effort.
It was the first bit of good news for CBS, which brought back “Big Brother” this summer even though last year’s show was a considered a boring flop.
All eyes will be on how tonight’s live episode performs. That’s because CBS is expected to air an interview with cast member Justin – who was booted off the show early yesterday after pulling a kitchen knife on one of the female house guests during what appeared to be a drunken makeout session.
The network says it has not decided if it will air actual footage of the incident.
It will also be the first time one of the house guests will be voted out.
Despite all the new drama, “Big Brother 2” trails in the ratings behind the original version.
The 70-odd telecasts of last summer’s “Big Brother” averaged about 9.2 million viewers each, compared to about 7.2 million after three shows this year.
