The bouncer who says publicist Lizzie Grubman called him “white trash” before mowing him down allegedly choked a Hamptons nightclub patron into unconsciousness Memorial Day weekend.
Stratis Morfogen says bouncer Scott Conlon, 31, attacked him after Morfogen’s party was escorted into the Conscience Point Inn.
“He is white trash,” said Morfogen, 33, a former Manhattan nightclub owner and current owner of FultonStreet.com, an Internet seafood-sales Web site.
Conlon’s lawyer, Christopher Modelewski, said, “I don’t believe the story because it’s wholly out of character for my client.”
On May 26, according toMorfogen, he, his wife, Veronika Haydon, and her sister Vanessa Haydon went to the club. They were waved inside, ahead of a long line of people, by the club’s promoter, Mike Heller.
Morfogen then returned to the door to tell bouncer Conlon that another woman was in their party.
“He basically looks at me, surprised” that Morfogen had gotten past him, Morfogen said. “He takes me with both hands around my neck, lifts me about a foot and a half off the ground.”
Morfogen said he passed out for several seconds.
“For no reason, he wrung him like a chicken,” said Veronika Haydon, who saw the alleged attack. “We were all shocked.”
Vanessa Haydon, who also saw the encounter, said she confronted the bouncer, who responded “that he [Morfogen] shouldn’t have come outside through that door.”
Heller said Morfogen told him he had been roughed up, but that Conlon said “someone was trying to go through the ropes and [Conlon was] just doing [his] job.”
