Guggenheim fellow is ‘First’ choiceHollywood director Davis Guggenheim – who’s married to actress Elisabeth Shue – is keeping busy these days.
Not only is Guggenheim’s new documentary, “The First Year,” airing tonight at 9 on Ch. 13, but he’s apparently been approached to direct several episodes of Fox’s ballyhooed new fall series, “24,” starring Kiefer Sutherland.
Guggenheim has, in the past, directed episodes of “ER,” “NYPD Blue” and “Party of Five.”
“The First Year” follows Los Angeles teachers in their first year of work.
The Baer facts for ‘SVU’ EP Neal”Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” executive producer Neal Baer, who’s also a medical doctor (pediatrics), will be honored by the Community for Education Foundation next Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the Waldorf.
Community for Education is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing “reading, writing, arithmetic and relevant” skills to young people.
Mariska Hargitay, who stars on “SVU” as Det. Olivia Benson, will present the award to Baer.
