Smoke-detector bug?Rosie O’Donnell is being sued by three former members of her security staff who say she spied on them at her south Florida mansion, it was reported yesterday.
Chris Delia, Steve Rubio and Ted Van Rijan charged their conversations were recorded illegally by a device hidden in a smoke detector.
“It’s especially hurtful because, basically, you feel betrayed,” Rubio told WSVN-TV in Miami.
The private investigators said they suspect the talk show queen recorded them because she was concerned about leaks to the media about her life.
“We would never betray her the way she betrayed us,” said Rubio.
He said after they complained, O’Donnell berated him on the phone.”And she was just yelling and screaming,” he said.
O’Donnell’s publicist denied any wrongdoing, and said she looked forward to defending herself in court.
Rubio said the staffers had worked for O’Donnell for years and felt close to her four children.
“We were the male figures, the dominant male figures in their lives, pretty much,” he said.
