Vinny Laino isn’t worried about his team being ready for its game against Sheepshead Bay.
“They are the defending champions,” said Laino, whose Fort Hamilton squad hosts the Sharks today at 1 p.m. “Anytime you have a game like that, if you’re not motivated, you don’t have blood in your veins.”
Fort Hamilton is vying for the top spot in the PSAL, but both teams have a reason to be revved up for this meeting. Both lost for the first time of the year last week. Fort Hamilton fell to Lehman and Sheepshead had its 17-game winning streak halted by Lincoln. With the playoffs only three weeks away, this game will go a long way in determining which is the team to beat.

Curtis at Port Richmond, today, 1 p.m.: These Staten Island foes figure to go far in the playoffs.
Prediction: Curtis 22, Port Richmond 20.
Wagner at Tottenville, tonight, 7 p.m.: Wagner hasn’t lost since dropping the league opener to Fort Hamilton and is now the top team in the PSAL. Tottenville isn’t far behind.
Prediction: Wagner 26, Tottenville 14.
Christ the King vs. Xaverian, at SJU, tonight, 7:30 p.m.: CTK looks to make a late-season push to the CHSFL playoffs.
Prediction: CTK 28, Xaverian 22.
Campus Magnet at Midwood, today, 1:30 p.m.: Both teams need wins to keep playoff hopes healthy.
