Movie moguls Bob and Harvey Weinstein were honored last night in London by the British Film Institute for their “outstanding contribution to cinema.”
For their efforts, the Miramax co-chairmen received the prestigious BFI Fellowship. The award was presented by actress Gwyneth Paltrow – making one of her first public appearances since her father’s death – at the 50th anniversary gala of the National Film Theatre.
The award is bestowed on individuals from around the world in recognition of their outstanding contribution to film and television culture.
It marks the first time the award has been given to a studio head.
