Take my prize, please!
That’s the humbling message from Woody Allen, who won a prestigious cultural award in Spain, but says he’s not fit to accept it in the same company as Arthur Miller.
“I don’t deserve it,” said the director and star of “Annie Hall” and “Manhattan” as he was given the Prince of Asturias Prize for Art.
The Brazilian soccer team, which won the World Cup last summer, was awarded the prize for sports, and Miller for literature for plays such as “Death of a Salesman” and “The Crucible.”
The 66-year-old Wood-man also thinks he leads a dull life.
“If you spent the day with me, it would be very boring . . . It’s common, it’s not interesting,” he said.
Allen is preparing to make his stage directorial debut with “Writer’s Block,” two one-act comedies he penned.
