WEIRD BUT TRUE

Michael Murray, a Minnesota hunter, was badly injured when he was shot by his own dog.

The 42-year-old Brooklyn Park resident was lining up a photograph of the pheasants his party had shot when it happened.

Murray’s English setter, Sonny, jumped on a 12-bore shotgun lying on the ground, causing it to fire.

After he was found, Murray was taken to a nearby hospital where he had 15 stitches put in his ankle. He’s expected to be fine.

A Nevada man has been arrested for allegedly riding his horse under the influence.

Carson City deputies spotted Manuel Carreon slouched in the saddle of his horse as he rode along a city street.

According to the arrest report, Carreon told the deputy he had downed a full 12-pack of beer before saddling up.

He was jailed to sober up after a breath test showed a blood alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit for operating an automobile.

A Rochester, Mass., man has been fined for ignoring a vet’s order to flush his cat’s radioactive waste down the toilet.

Bill Jenness’ cat, Mitzi, was treated with radioiodine after developing a thyroid complaint.

The treatment made the cat, and her droppings, radioactive for weeks. Jenness said he threw the litter into a garbage can after the waste hardened into abnormally large clumps.

Why didn’t he flush his cat’s waste as he was told? “I was afraid of my septic system being clogged,” Jenness said.

How the surgeons determined how long the woman had carried the fetus was not disclosed.
