* A knife-wielding man sodomized a woman near Central Park yesterday, police said.
The attack occurred at about 3:30 a.m. on West 108th Street and Central Park West, where a man in his 30s approached a 22-year-old woman, pulled a knife and sodomized her before fleeing.
* The death of a woman who was shot twice in the back has been reclassified a homicide, police said yesterday.
Pamela Sylvester, 25, was found last Friday in front of an apartment building on West 228th Street near Marble Hill Avenue. She was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in serious condition. She died Monday. (s, lcf)
THE BRONX
* One young man was killed and another wounded in a shooting in front of a Mount Eden apartment building, police said yesterday.
Cops responded to a drug-related call at 9:30 p.m. Monday on Sheridan Avenue near East 171st Street. While heading to the scene, police received another call of a man shot at the same location. When they arrived, they found Dwayne Irving, 26, lying on the ground with two gunshot wounds to his face and one to his chest, police said.
He was taken to Bronx Lebanon Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A short time later, Antoine Wimberly, 24, walked into Lincoln Hospital with two gunshot wounds to his back, police said. He told cops that he was walking with Irving when they were shot.
* A man was clinging to life yesterday after he was assaulted in the South Bronx, police said. The violence erupted at around 9:30 a.m. on West 168th Street near Grand Concourse, where three unidentified men approached the victim and stabbed him three times in the torso and beat him with a bat, cops said. The attackers fled.

BROOKLYN
* Four kids were arrested yesterday for a robbery in Bedford-Stuyvesant, police said. The suspects, ages 12 to 16, kicked, beat and robbed a teen at Willoughby and Kent avenues on Oct. 21, cops said.
The youths, whose names were not released because of their ages, were charged with robbery and assault. (s, lcf)
* The death of a man who was shot in Brownsville has been reclassified a homicide, police said yesterday. Preston Thompson, 29, and two teens were in a courtyard on Watkins Street near Riverdale Avenue on Sept. 19 when they were approached by a gunman who opened fire.
Preston was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he died Monday.
The teen victims were taken to Brookdale Hospital, one in serious, the other in stable condition.
* A motorcycle driver was killed yesterday after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run in Prospect Heights, police said.
The accident occurred at about 6:45 a.m., when the unidentified victim was traveling east on Atlantic Avenue. A 1989 blue Mercury Marquis was heading south on Vanderbilt Avenue and slammed into the motorcycle, cops said.
The victim was taken to Brooklyn Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Mercury fled on foot, police said.
QUEENS
* A beloved elderly couple were discovered dead at home yesterday – apparently from carbon-monoxide. Everett and Greta Gibson, both 72, were pronounced dead in their home at 147-33 20th Road in Whitestone at about 3:30 p.m.
Police say the deaths were accidental. Investigators are trying to determine the source of the fumes. One possibility is a leaky furnace.
“They’d always stop and talk to you in the street, very open and friendly,” said a neighbor. “I’d see Everett almost every day on the stoop waiting for the paper, then reading it.
“Absolutely everybody loved them.” (s, lcf)
* A father-son bribery team were arrested yesterday after they repeatedly offered highway cops jewelry to tamper with an accident report, police said.
Mikail Sachakov, 51, and his son Alexander, 24, were caught on tape in a Union Turnpike coffee shop trying to persuade officers to change information on a police report in exchange for gems, cops said. (lcf)
* A man allegedly sodomized an 8-year-old boy yesterday in a Jackson Heights park. The incident occurred between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. on 37th Avenue and 112th Street, where the PS 114 youngster was doing homework in Rev. George Warren Hinton Park. A man in his 20s was playing handball there, and called the boy over to the court and exposed himself, cops said.
He then forced the boy into a park bathroom and sodomized him before fleeing.
The boy was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital for evaluation. (m)
