New Jersey state cops said they were investigating the suspicious death of a 20-year-old man discovered in his car yesterday at a service station off the Garden State Parkway.
Police said they received a 911 call at 3:15 p.m. after a woman noticed Nicholas Novielli of Howell, N.J., sitting in his 1996 Ford Cortina outside an Exxon station in Woodbridge Township.
State police spokesman Sgt. Kevin Raymond said Novielli’s father had reported his son missing earlier in the day, but it was unclear how long he had been gone. Novielli ‘s brother told The Post his brother was a college student who had lived with his family until recently.
Cops said he had not been heard from in two days. They said they were investigating a “suspicious” death, but added that preliminary reports that the car had bullet holes in it were untrue.
Raymond said an autopsy would be performed.
