What’s 6-foot-7, purple and playing Radio City Music Hall?
It’s Barney – starring in “Barney’s Colorful World,” through tomorrow.
The Post recently caught up with the talkative tyrannosaurus rex. Here’s what he told us.
Post: T-Rex is one of the biggest dinosaurs. Does that make it hard to find clothing?
Barney: Absolutely. Well, you know, I have my own tailor. And sometimes I go to Barneys in New York. I went in there once thinking it was all my clothes.
Post: Do you ever get tired of the color purple? And if you could change it, what might you pick?
Barney: Oh my goodness. I never get tired of purple. I just love all the colors, though. The reason I like purple so much is I just love jelly – you know, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
Post: How do you unwind when you’re not performing?
Barney: Pretty much I’m always playing and dancing and singing. I don’t think I sleep that much – I can’t remember sleeping. I just love to have so much fun. What else is there in life?
Post: Ever see yourself settling down and having children of your own one day?
Barney: Oh ho ho, no. I don’t think so.
Post: How would you define your personal style?
Barney: Well, I’d like to think that I’m, uh, pretty hip. I’m classy.
Post: You’re on the road a lot. What do you never leave home without?
Barney: A big smile. And plenty of hugs. Always bring hugs with you wherever you go.
Post: Does it ever get lonely being a dinosaur in world where dinosaurs are extinct?
Barney: No, I never get lonely. I always have my friends with me – and Baby Bop and BJ, too.
Post: Do you have any favorite foods?
Barney: I love pizza. And, of course, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with a big glass of milk – makes me hungry right now. And fruits and vegetables, I love that. Always got to be healthy.
Post: If there was anything you could change about yourself, what would it be?
Barney: Probably my eating habits. I’m kinda big. I never say no to food, that’s for sure.
Post: Does Barney need to watch his weight?
Barney: Oh, I don’t know about that. Maybe I shouldn’t have like 20 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches … Maybe just one.
