Police busted two women and a man who set up a million-dollar “exclusive neighborhood boutique” selling stolen designer clothes in Queens, Commissioner Ray Kelly announced yesterday.
Detectives searched an apartment on 80th Street in Elmhurst, Thursday where they found about $1 million in merchandise, Queens DA Richard Brown said.
They arrested Cecilia Aguilera, 42, Maria Valle, 41, and Alvara Valencia, 44, who face charges of criminal possession of stolen goods and failure to report sales tax.
The officers confiscated stolen clothes made by such trendy fashion houses as DKNY, Anne Klein, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Victoria’s Secret, Ann Taylor, The GAP, Kenneth Cole and Banana Republic.
Investigators also recovered clothing racks and glass display cases along with Gucci watches, expensive jewelry and perfume.
Police investigated the illegal fashion store after receiving anonymous tips.
