The MTA’s seven bridges and two tunnels lost $3.6 million last week because of the blizzard that pelted the city, officials said yesterday.
“It’s a big piece of change to make up,” said Bridges and Tunnels president Michael Ascher. “It will take a few strong months to make up that revenue.”
The MTA said it lost $2.1 million last Monday alone because 700,000 vehicles were unable to use the crossings after the Big Apple was blanketed with 20 inches of snow.
Some 850,000 cars use MTA-operated bridges and tunnels on an average day.
