A 9-year-old Florida girl was burned on her face, neck and arm by an exploding piece of candy.
Taquandra Diggs of Starke was holding a large piece of jawbreaker candy in her hand and when she went to put it in her mouth, it popped violently.
“It hurt a bunch,” said Diggs. The FDA is analyzing the candy.
An 81-year-old woman in Canada failed her road test for the sixth time – when she drove her car into a river.
The woman was backing out of a parking place in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and went about 75 feet too far. Her car plunged over an embankment and into a shallow river.
Neither she nor the instructor was injured.

Interstate 40, the main east-west highway in the state, had to be shut down for several hours after about 800 piglets spilled on to the road as a livestock truck overturned just east of Oklahoma City.
The freeway was closed as cops and firefighters corralled the squealers.
A 44-year-old Pennsylvania man has given new meaning to the term “hard rock.”
The man was arrested after simulating sex with a rock on the Youghiogeny River trail near Hempfield Township. He had earlier been seen riding a bike decorated with women’s underwear.
