IT’S ‘ELF’ BY BIDDING – NO KIDDING

CONSIDER this for the person on your Christmas list who really does have everything.

New Line Cinema is currently auctioning off the Santa’s sleigh used in Will Ferrell’s No. 1 box office movie, “Elf.”

As of yesterday, the top bidder at http://www.auction.newline.com was offering $2,199 for the sleigh, which is 17 feet long, weighs 1 ton and comes complete with a “Claus-O-Meter,” which “Santa” Ed Asner used to measure the level of the world’s Christmas cheer.

Other big screen souvenirs up for auction include Ferrell’s elf costume (now at $1,023) and the bullet-riddled black leather jacket that Arnold Schwarzenegger used during the filming of “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” (now at $3,003).

If those are out of your price range, Nick Stahl’s watch from “Terminator 3” is only at $151, and Jon Favreau’s doctor’s coat from “Elf” is selling for $67.

Some of the proceeds from the auctions go to such charities as City Meals on Wheels and the Legal Aid Society.

Meanwhile, at the Christie’s entertainment memorabilia auction yesterday, John Lennon’s handwritten “Nowhere Man” lyrics sold for $455,500; a kitchen sink from “The Honeymooners” went for $19,120; and Michael Curtiz’s Best Director Oscar for “Casablanca” sold for $231,500 – to erstwhile magician David Copperfield. The Doors’ Jim Morrison’s door did not sell.
