Police are searching for a man they say sexually assaulted a 19-year-old mother as she was pushing her baby in a stroller on the Lower East Side.
The brazen attack occurred Thursday at 10:30 a.m. as the unidentified mother was walking with her 2-month-old baby near Houston Street and the FDR Drive, said cops.
The woman, who was walking to her mother’s house, was grabbed from behind by a man who claimed he had a gun.
He then led her into a nearby alley and forced her to perform oral sex on him in front of her young child, police sources said.
As the man took her to a nearby building, the young mom called out for help to a female passerby, and managed to get away with the baby.
The suspect (above) is described as black, between 18 and 22 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 and with kinky hair. He was wearing a gray coat that ends about mid-thigh and has a foot that is tilted inward and a little crooked, police said.
Cops were trying to unravel a subway mystery last night after they found a body along the Seventh Avenue IRT express tracks in Chelsea.
The body, of an unidentified Asian woman in her 20s who did not appear to be homeless, could have been along the tracks for 24 hours, police said.
The woman was found about 20 feet north of the station at 14th Street and Seventh Avenue. It was removed about 7 p.m.
An autopsy was planned to determine how the woman died.
The body of a 37-year-old man was discovered floating in the East River near the Third Avenue Bridge, police said yesterday.
The NYPD’s Harbor units were called to the waters off East 125th Street around noon Thursday, where cops fished out the body.
Bronx
A Bronx man has been charged with the murder of a 53-year-old man on a Kingsbridge street, police said yesterday.
Fidel Pena, 28, was arrested Thursday in Pennsylvania and extradited to New York. Pena, 28, shot Ralph Alvarez in the head at Webb Avenue and West Kingsbridge Road around 8 p.m. on April 15, cops said.
A 24-year-old man was in stable condition after being shot twice near St. Mary’s Park in Mott Haven, cops said.
The man was hit in the arm and leg at East 156th Street near St. Ann’s Avenue around 9 p.m. Thursday.
The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital as cops combed the neighborhood searching for his attacker.
Queens
A wild brawl on a Jamaica street left a 15-year-old dead and two other teens fighting for their lives, cops said.
It was not immediately clear what prompted the knife fight, which erupted around 5:45 p.m. at 153rd Street and Archer Avenue.
The dead youth’s name was not released.
Two other teens were in Mary Immaculate Hospital, one with a stab wound, and the other with trauma to his head that came from being hit with a blunt object, said cops. Both were in critical condition.
Cops arrested Daquan Parker, 16, for the killing. Charges were pending.
A 15-year-old boy was shot in the leg during an argument with a young man on a Corona street, police said yesterday.
The victim was wounded at 10 p.m. Wednesday, when an unidentified man in his late teens or early 20s pulled a gun and opened fire on 101st Street and 35th Avenue.
He was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital in stable condition.
Brooklyn
An unidentified man in his 30s was shot in the head on a Canarsie Street last night and police were searching for his killer.
The shooting occurred at 7:45 p.m. in front of 755 E. 78 St.A 22-year-old man was critically injured when a city bus plowed into him on a Williamsburg street, police said yesterday.
The unidentified man was crossing at the intersection of Metropolitan and Bushwick avenues when the bus hit him around 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital.
Police said no arrests were made and no summonses were given to the bus driver.
A 42-year-old man was found dead yesterday in a motel room in Bath Beach, police said.
The body of John Barbati was discovered around 2 a.m. at the Harbor Motor Inn on Shore Parkway near 24th Avenue.
Police said the body bore no signs of trauma. The medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine how he died.
Staten Island
Two 26-year-old men were arrested for beating two other men and stealing their cash on an Arlington street, authorities said.
Philip Steele and Steven Pagan confronted Jeffrey Parada and Steven Corvino at Forest Avenue near Lockman Avenue around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Steele allegedly whacked Parada in the head with a metal object. He then reached into Parada’s pants pocket and took his cash, cops said. Pagan then allegedly kicked Corvino in his legs and took his money.
‘A 17-year-old has been arrested for elbowing a sergeant in the face as cops were breaking up an unruly crowd in Port Richmond, authorities said.
Moses Llanos was standing in front of a marked police car occupied by the sergeant and a police officer at Charles Avenue and Crittenden Place around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
After the cops repeatedly asked him to move, Llanos responded, “F- – – you. I’m not moving. Hit me with the car and I will sue.”
The sergeant got out of the vehicle and Llanos allegedly elbowed him in the face and shoulder while being placed under arrest.
