Two New Yorkers received a $10,000 reward for their key roles in helping to solve the sensational 1988 murder of NYPD officer Michael Buczek.
The anonymous tipsters came forward shortly after Buczek was gunned down as he interrupted a robbery on West 161 Street on Oct. 18, 1988, and provided information that helped identify the shooters.
The last suspect was recently extradited from the Dominican Republic. His conviction just weeks ago paved the way for the long-awaited payout from COP SHOT, which posts a $10,000 reward for information leading to the capture of perps who shoot at cops.
“This sends a strong message to cop-shooters that there’s standing cash reward on your head no matter how long it takes to bring you to justice,” said Edward Arrigoni, the founding chairman of COP SHOT.
