Ike Hilliard today will be named the winner of the third annual George Young Good Guy Award by the Giants chapter of the Pro Football Writers of America.
The award, named in memory of the late Giants GM, goes to the player who is considered to be extremely accessible and cooperative with the media. Hilliard earlier in his career had had some ups and downs in his relationship with the media – as well as with Jim Fassel – but the past two years has been a willing and interesting locker-room presence.
“It might have taken some time for the media to see the real Ike Hilliard,” said Jonathan Feinsod, who along with Neil Schwartz represents Hilliard. “This goes to show they know what a great guy he is and what he’s all about.”
