JANET TO GO BOWL-ING

IT is believed that Janet Jackson will headline the NFL’s Super Bowl halftime show this year.

Hip-hoppers Outkast may also be part of the AOL-sponsored, MTV-produced entertainment, according to reports.

But the group’s participation in the show was in doubt yesterday, sources said, especially after civil rights pioneer Rosa Parks got the green light Monday to sue them for illegally using her name as the title of one of their hit 1998 songs.

NFL and MTV reps could not confirm details about the halftime show yesterday, and officials at Arista, Outkast’s record label, did not return calls for comment.

Meanwhile, Chrysler’s German bosses are getting cold feet about Dodge promoting a Super Bowl halftime show featuring lingerie-clad models playing football.

The flap over “Lingerie Bowl 2004,” which will be shown on a separate pay-per-view channel for $19.95, came after Chrysler feared it would be called sexist.

The half-hour lingerie extravaganza features models playing football – with little more than knee protectors and lacy bras and panties – all emblazoned with the Dodge ram logo.

German executives at Chrysler parent Daimler Benz want the sexy underwear replaced with sports bras and bicycle shorts, sources said.

Hollywood-based Horizon Productions, which is producing the Lingerie Bowl, assured Chrysler in a two-page letter that it would tone down the show at a separate rented stadium in California.
