A 24-year-old man was stabbed to death yesterday during a battle between two Hispanic groups over “geographic background,” police said. The fight left two of his friends fighting for their lives.
The melee took place at the corner of 102nd Street and 46th Avenue at 6:15 a.m. in Corona, Queens.
It was unclear what started the fight, which a police source said was about ethnic heritage.
The slain man was stabbed several times in the chest.
Two of his friends, ages 17 and 22, were rushed to Elmhurst Hospital with chest and neck wounds. They were in critical but stable condition.
The names of the victims were not released.
A blood-splattered kitchen knife was recovered from the scene.
