The stars flocked to downtown Manhattan last night as the third annual Tribeca Film Festival kicked off with a glittering red-carpet premiere.
Festival founder Robert De Niro, Will Smith and Goldie Hawn joined her daughter Kate Hudson, John Corbett and Joan Cusack for the premiere of their bubbly New York-set romantic comedy, “Raising Helen,” at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center.
A star-studded bash followed at Battery Park City’s Winter Garden.
“I’m very excited about this year’s festival, and I think it will be the best yet,” De Niro said earlier in the day.
“As always, we are proud to share our neighborhood and all that it offers to movie fans everywhere.”
Over the next eight days, downtown will be crawling with celebrities as more than 250 films from 42 countries unspool at various downtown venues, including the United Artists megaplex in Battery Park City.
