MANHATTAN

* A city school teacher was arrested yesterday afternoon for violating an order of protection, police said.

Alexis Parajares, 31, allegedly showed up at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Fifth Avenue – where his estranged wife works, cops said.

Parajares works at the HS for Medical Science, authorities said. It was not immediately clear when or why the order of protection was issued. (lcf)

* A Massachusetts man arrested for robbing an Upper East Side bank Tuesday has confessed to an earlier heist, police said yesterday.

Derek Harper, 49, admitted to police he held up the Commerce branch at Third Avenue and 85th Street around 9:30 a.m. Monday, when he slipped a teller a demand note and fled with cash, cops said.

The next day, Harper, of Northboro, Mass., robbed the Commerce branch on Second Avenue near 77th Street and fled with cash.

The Second Avenue branch manager, a martial-arts expert, chased and tackled the suspect on East 78th Street.

Police arrested Harper on robbery charges.

* The death of an emotionally disturbed man in a cocaine-fueled frenzy in Harlem was ruled a homicide, the Medical Examiner’s Office said yesterday.

Jose Irizarry, 41, was asphyxiated when family members applied pressure to his neck and chest and bound his hands and legs with tape to restrain him, the ME’s office said.

Cops were called to the family’s apartment on Frederick Douglass Boulevard around 11 a.m. Tuesday.

There they found Irizarry lying face-down and unconscious on the floor.

Irizarry was taken to Harlem Hospital, where he died. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case.

* The death of a 62-year-old man found beaten outside a Harlem bar two months ago has been ruled a homicide, authorities said yesterday.

Cops were called to Front Line Bar on West 145th Street around 1 a.m. on March 31 and discovered Abraham Williams nearby bleeding from the nose and mouth.

Williams was taken to Harlem Hospital, where he died on March 26.

Sources said he died of cardiovascular disease, cocaine abuse and blunt-trauma injuries to his head, neck and torso.

Police last night were questioning someone in connection with the case. (m, s)

BROOKLYN

* A Windsor Terrace man was arrested for slashing a man in a brawl, authorities said yesterday.

John McCulloch and his girlfriend were strolling past a group of people on Eighth Avenue near Prospect Avenue at 3:55 a.m. last Saturday, cops said. His girlfriend began fighting with one of the women in the group. McCulloch allegedly pulled out a razor and stepped in.

A man in the group, Christopher Dileo, also got involved, but was slashed by McCulloch on the face and arm, sources said.

Dileo, 24, was taken to Lutheran Hospital, where he received 10 stitches to close his wounds.

McCulloch fled, but was captured at 11 a.m. Wednesday and charged with assault, menacing and weapons possession.

* A Prospect Heights man was arrested for attacking his girlfriend and threatening to kill her last month, authorities said yesterday.

Scott Giles argued with his gal pal over her coming home late to their Bergen Street apartment at 2 a.m. on April 24, cops said.

Giles allegedly grabbed the woman by the neck and choked her before throwing her onto the bed. He then placed a pillow over her face, smothered her, punched her, dragged her across the floor and bit her hand, cops said.

After threatening to kill her, Giles fled.

The victim called 911 and reported the incident to police. Police arrested Giles at his home on Wednesday morning and charged him with assault, menacing and harassment.

* A cop grabbed a robbery suspect in Williamsburg after recognizing him from a prior arrest, authorities said yesterday.

The robbery was on March 30, when Virgil Taylor and an accomplice followed Jonathan Leon, 19, into an elevator at an apartment building at 390 Bushwick Ave, and stole cash and a gold chain.

Taylor was spotted on Seigel Street Wednesday and the housing cop grabbed him. Taylor was charged with robbery and menacing.

* A 33-year-old man was shot twice by an assailant on a Brownsville street, authorities said.

Gary Deleini, 33, was hit in the hand and thigh on Rockaway Boulevard and Bergen Street at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday.

He was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. The shooter fled.

* An assailant shot a man in the chest on a Prospect Heights street before fleeing, cops said.

The thug blasted his 33-year-old victim for unknown reasons Wednesday on St. Marks Place and Fourth Avenue. The wounded man was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was stable.

STATEN ISLAND

* Three men were arrested on burglary charges after they broke into a gift shop in Arrochar and took property, authorities said.

The robbers shattered the glass front door of the store on Hylan Boulevard around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday and stole a box and a cash register, cops said.

In addition to burglary, three suspects were charged with criminal mischief and petit larceny.

THE BRONX

* A Department of Education principal was busted for drunk driving after getting into a fender-bender in Throgs Neck last night, cops said.

Richard Cooperman, 51, got into a minor car accident at the corner of East Tremont Avenue and Marina Drive at 10:50 p.m., police said.

Cops arriving at the accident quickly realized Cooperman, who is the principal at an undisclosed high school, was drunk. He was charged with DWI. (lcf)

* A Fordham man was arrested in last month’s fatal stabbing of a 43-year-old man during an argument over cash, police said.

Amad Ozoria, 47, stabbed Rafael Lara twice in the stomach at East 188th Street and Elm Place before fleeing at around 3:30 a.m. on April 28, cops said.

Lara was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died. Police arrested Ozoria Wednesday and charged him with murder.
