‘Sunday’ tribute
Last Friday, ABC’s “Nightline” devoted its entire broadcast to reading the names of every U.S. service member killed in Iraq.
Chris Wallace, host of “Fox News Sunday,” says he’s taking a different approach to that concept on his show this Sunday (10 a.m./Ch. 5) in a segment called “What We’ve Accomplished.”
“We’re not going to list all the names – we’ll probably spend about eight minutes on this – but we don’t just want to list the names,” Wallace says. “If we’re paying tribute to a soldier who fought and died in Iraq, we want to put it in the context of what they went halfway around the world to do, what they died for.
“It will be less built around names than accomplishments in terms of specific things that were done – and someone losing their life doing it.
“We fully recognize there are a lot of problems with this war and a lot of problems with the current occupation,” he says. “We’ll address this in full.”
Wallace’s scheduled guests this Sunday include Sen. John McCain and Sen. Evan Bayh.
