TELLER SWIPED 190G: DA

A Queens bank teller who allegedly socked away about $190,000 in customer funds found herself deposited at Rikers Island after a suspicious client tipped off the bank, the Queens District Attorney’s Office said yesterday.

“According to the charges, the defendant, a teller, has admitted taking the money from the bank’s night deposits and keeping it at her residence,” said Queens DA Richard Brown.

The teller, Omadevi Balkishun, had worked for five years at the HSBC branch on Aguilar Avenue in Kew Gardens Hills.

She was arraigned Wednesday, charged with grand larceny and possession of stolen property and ordered held on $10,000 bail.

The 28-year-old mother of two faces 15 years in jail if convicted.

Cops at the 107th Precinct in Queens nabbed the sticky-fingered teller on Tuesday after a corporate client at the branch noticed some deposit receipts hadn’t been validated, sources said.

Detectives found the cash – mostly in twenties – stashed in a dresser drawer at Balkishun’s home on 87th Road in Jamaica.
