BRAVE Jimmy Kimmel was back at work yesterday after a severe allergic reaction during his show Tuesday night sent him to a hospital.
“I don’t know what’s happening, but my head feels like it’s about to burst,” Kimmel said about midway through “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on ABC as his face swelled and his voice weakened.
As his condition worsened visibly, Kimmel gamely continued hosting the show until the end, conducting interviews with his guests – actress Gabrielle Union and skateboarder Tony Hawk. Kimmel even joked at one point, “I’m having a potentially life-ending allergic reaction to something. I don’t know what it is right now, but this could be my very last show.”
As soon as the show ended, Kimmel was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital, where he was given allergy medicine and released.
Yesterday, Kimmel blamed his illness on Advil. “I know this sounds like one of Courtney Love’s stories, but I took about eight Advil during the day yesterday – which is about five too many – and my head blew up like a float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.”
