A deranged man who allegedly stabbed his grandmother to death was arraigned in a Manhattan hospital yesterday for trying to kill two people by shoving them in front of a subway train.
Akeem Capers, 20, was charged with two counts of attempted murder, assault, attempted assault and reckless endangerment in Bellevue Hospital for the chilling attacks last week at the Columbus Circle station.
Prosecutors said Capers pushed one man onto the tracks as a train was pulling into the station, and then tried to shove another man off the platform. That man managed to fight off the attack.
The train operator saw the one victim on the tracks and held the train.
