A hulking sex offender broke into his girlfriend’s Staten Island home yesterday, repeatedly raped her 15-year-old daughter, then beat the girlfriend, locked the doors, and set the house ablaze, police sources said.
The gutsy daughter, naked except for a flimsy housecoat, escaped, screaming to stunned neighbors: “My mom is in trouble! He raped me! He raped me!”
As flames ripped through the three-story house in the Arlington section, firefighters broke down the door, and rushed to a bedroom to grab the mother and her ex, who both lay unconscious.
Vincent McCollum, 45, was in critical condition at St. Vincent’s Hospital and is charged with rape, burglary, arson, assault and child endangerment. The mother, 38, and four firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation.
The horrifying attack began at 10:30 a.m. as McCollum allegedly entered the house on Holland Avenue. He put a kitchen knife to the daughter’s throat and raped and beat her, police sources said. “He left, found a bottle of Sambuca and returned, pouring it down her throat. Then he raped her again,” one source said.
