DAWN OF THE ‘DEAD ZONE’

‘THE Dead Zone,” USA Network’s cult-hit thriller, is trying to break out.

“We’re in our third season and what matters to me is the evolution itself,” “Zone” star Anthony Michael Hall told SCI FI Wire.

“Just making it more cinematic, making it more intense and more visually dynamic, everything we can. And that includes, with the support of the network, bringing in some name actors.”

The show will return on June 6.

Joining the cast as a recurring character this season is “Pulp Fiction” actor Frank Whaley.

On the show, Hall plays Johnny Smith, a psychic who gains his powers after he wakes up from a six-year coma.

His fiancé is married to someone else and has a young son. He can also see the future and tries to stop terrible crimes before they happen.

Hall promises that the third season will feature more multi-episode story arcs and bigger themes.

Other A-listers are expected to pop up as guest stars in individual episodes, including tormented funnyman Richard Lewis, who’ll play a DJ haunted by his past.

The series is based on a best-selling Stephen King book that was also the basis of the 1983 movie starring Christopher Walken.
