GIVE PISTOLS A SHOT: Two Dollar Pistols, led by rich baritone singer John Howie Jr., is a rockin’ honky-tonk quartet from Chapel Hill, N.C.. The band’s new album, “Hands Up!,” has lots of tunes caught in that timeless country vein of Waylon Jennings and Buck Owens, while adding pop flourishes of Chris Isaak and Dwight Yokum. The group likes to call it “country-politan,” inspired by Nashville songwriting, Glen Campbell and Roy Orbison. (“There Goes My Baby” could be an Orbison tune). Two Dollar Pistols performs tonight along with the Hackensaw Boys (the headliners), Steve Shif fman & the Land of No, and Dusty Wright & the Jaguars. Mercury Lounge, 217 E. Houston St., at Essex Street; (212) 260-4700.
