FIND HER A DRESS – FAST!

Tara Reid’s exposed breast wasn’t the revealing moment at Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’ 35th birthday party on Thursday. Paris Hilton revealed she’d left her undergarments at home. And the guest of honor’s girlfriend, Kim Porter, had problems finding any dress at all. Diddy’s invite specified that guests should “Dress as you have never dressed before. Marvel in the spectacle that is fashion.

“Your code of dress shall begin with silk, velvet and other luxurious fabrics and end beautifully in hand-tailored suits and gorgeous dresses flown in from the fashion houses of Paris.” He named 11 acceptable designers, including Prada, Valentino, Versace, Oscar de la Renta, Jean Paul Gaultier and Givenchy.

But a week before the party, Porter’s stylist was still frantically calling fashion houses trying to find a dress for her to borrow. The designers’ publicists weren’t too interested in helping her out.

One fashionista who was called sniffed, “She’s just a washed-up model. She has no image. She could just buy a dress, anyway.”

Porter pulled through, however, appearing in a stunning Valentino dress. But the design, many noted, appeared to be several seasons old.

COX FIGHT

Blogger Ana Marie Cox, whose exit-poll postings on her site wonkette.com contributed to the flurry of Democratic excitement on Election Day, has gotten into a nasty spat with right-wing Newsweek writer Chris Gasparino.

The tiff started when the two clashed over politics on Tina Brown’s CNBC show, “Topic A,” back on Oct. 10. The next day, Cox told the Society of Professional Journalists at Columbia University: “He’s just kinda a dork … I just think he’s just a jerk.”

Gasparino fired back last week: “She’s not a journalist. The problem with these liberal pundits is they have no clue what average Americans are thinking. I’m a reporter, I talk to a lot of people. If you sit around in cocktail parties in Georgetown like she does and you listen to the same people, of course you will miss the election.”

“I apologize for calling him a jerk. He is not a jerk,” Cox responded. “But he hasn’t done any investigation into either what is on my blog or in my life. I’m a bourbon-drinking, dive-bar-going kind of girl.”

As for the exit polls she posted, “I didn’t personally conduct the exit polls, you know – and we’ll never know if Kerry snatched defeat from the jaws of victory or if he was losing all along.”

LYING DOWN ON THE JOB

Heidi Fleiss has been recruiting staff like crazy for her new Nevada brothel, the White House. The Hollywood Madam, who dressed up as the Big Bad Wolf for a Halloween party at Miami’s Mansion club, told friends that there has been lots of interest from potential employees. Each room of the White House will be a reproduction of one on Pennsylvania Avenue, re-created using historical documents.

HARVEY’S MELTDOWN

Harvey “No Carbs” Weinstein, a devout Democrat, almost fell off the diet wagon at the election-night bash he hosted with Republican doyenne Georgette Mosbacher. Weinstein, who stoically stayed glued to the flat screens at the Palm restaurant into the wee hours, was surrounded by glasses filled with red, white and blue M&Ms: his primary weakness.

“Get those away from me,” he was overheard telling a member of his staff. And as the electoral tide turned against Kerry, Weinstein started making frantic phone calls. “Get me Ari Emmanuel!” he said, referring to the powerful Endeavor Agency head, as though Hollywood could stop the Bush tanks. Finally, the dejected Weinstein stopped calling and slumped into a chair, miserably watching the election results.

TRUMP TIMES TWO

Will it be a double Trump wedding this spring? Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Haydon plan to tie the knot at his father’s posh Palm Beach club, Mar-a-Lago. Trump senior will wed his third wife, Melania Knauss, there as well.

A beaming Haydon, who’s a former model, shared her excitement with friends while scoping out party dresses at the Carlos Miele’s Saks boutique opening on Wednesday night.
