Virgin territory
IT’S one thing to be Donald Trump and send “Apprentice” contestants running around New York, staging fashion shows and other local events. It’s quite another to be Richard Branson, the founder of Virgin Records and Virgin Atlantic Airways, and send 16 contestants around the orld partaking in the sort of derring-do stunts that made him famous. Branson, who once crossed the Pacific in a balloon, will give the winner of this contest $1 million and a job as president of Virgin, Inc. Hey, wait – isn’t that Branson’s job?

Off with her head
POOR King Henry VIII. Couldn’t produce a male heir. And his wives – all six of them – paid dearly. Two of them lost their heads over it. The country saw a seismic shift as a result, too. After Henry’s first wife, the Catholic Katharine of
Aragon, gave birth to a girl, Henry sought an annulment and ended up being excommunicated by the church – resulting in England’s conversion to Protestantism. In this six-week remake of the brilliant 1970 miniseries that starred Keith Michell as the mercurial king, Roy Winstone plays the mercurial Henry. Anne Boleyn, Henry’s second wife, is played by Helena Bonham Carter.
