A Queens gas station employee was shot and killed yesterday after his co-worker stepped out for his morning coffee, police said.
A third worker at The Emporium station in Hollis – who was known to have had an argument with the victim – did not show up for work, and police were seeking to interview him.
Law-enforcement sources said the man was considered a suspect.
The slaying occurred at about 8:29 a.m. inside the three-pump station at 187-46 Jamaica Ave., which shares a building with an auto-care store.
The two workers showed up for the morning shift, but the third man scheduled to work was AWOL. One of the men went out to get coffee, and when he returned, he found his co-worker dead in the office. He’d been shot three times.
The victim was described as an immigrant from Nigeria who was believed to be in his 30s or early 40s.
Authorities did not release his name or address.
