SANTA MARIA, Calif. – Michael Jackson’s defense wants to attack his accusers from head to toe, demanding sweeping access to health records from the family at the center of molestation charges against the singer, court documents say.
Defense lawyers have asked for copies of family X-rays, lab tests, MRI film, ultrasounds, gynecological, medication and mental-health records.
Team Jacko not only wants the sensitive documents, it’s seeking to get inside his accusers’ heads with a defense-administered mental exam.
Defense lawyers argue that a psychologist will probably testify for the DA, so Jackson deserves to have a shrink interview accusers.
“Mr. Jackson cannot cross-examine and confront expert witnesses unless he is permitted equal access to the subject matter of the experts’ mental examination,” defense lawyer Brian Oxman wrote.
Prosecutors have asked a judge to quash the defense subpoenas, claiming that the accuser and his family have medical-privacy rights that can’t be violated by Jackson’s team.
