A cop shot an ax-wielding Brooklyn man last night after he brazenly told officers: “You’re going to have to shoot me,” police said.
The violence started when Alfonso Wilson, 21, allegedly tried to break down the door of a Brooklyn apartment after he’d just been thrown out by his mother’s boyfriend, Derek Coleman.
The two had gotten into a heated argument at about 7 p.m. in the fourth-floor apartment on Ocean Ave. in Flatbush over Wilson’s refusal to pay a $280 phone bill.
After being tossed out, Wilson went to the boiler room and returned with a fire ax, police said.
Wilson allegedly took a few whacks at the door as two officers arrived. The cops shouted, “Drop the ax!”
Then Wilson issued his challenge and an officer shot him once in the stomach. He was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.
