LOS ANGELES – Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, his lip swollen from a motorcycle spill, vowed yesterday he won’t leave the fast lane.
California’s leading man, smiling through 15 stitches in his upper lip, made political hay of the crash as he touted state efforts to pump up childhood health-care.
The governor and his 12-year-old son, Patrick, were on a Harley-Davidson Sunday afternoon in their tony L.A. neighborhood of Brentwood when they crashed into a motorist.
Schwarzenegger didn’t realize the seriousness of his injuries until later.
His wife, Maria Shriver, “hates motorcycles,” he said. “And she hates me skiing fast, and she hates all the things that I do that are dangerous, but that is just the way it is.”
