Two home health-care aides attacked and tormented a wheelchair-dependent, great-great grandmother in her East Harlem apartment – even stealing her medical-alert button – one of the women on trial for her murder told a Manhattan jury yesterday.
Kaysha Gongora, 24, and Assia Serrano, 22, allegedly killed 85-year-old heart patient Petra Cuchola, mother of five, grandmother of 18, great-grandmother of 35 and great-great-grandmother of 10.
Testifying against her alleged accomplice about the 2003 attack, Gongora said they tricked their victim into opening her door.
They covered her head with a coat, tied her up with belts and panty-hose, and then tormented her with pokes to the legs from a kitchen knife until she told them where she hid her little stash of cash, Gongora said.
“It’s in the closet, in the black pocketbook!” the old woman finally said,.
Cuchola died 11 days after the attack.
