A convicted sexual predator is being sought for allegedly raping a woman at a Lower East Side day spa, authorities said yesterday.
Allen Johnson, 36, was identified as a suspect in the rape of the worker by security video and a fingerprint he left behind following the Tuesday attack, police said.
Johnson allegedly entered the business – which police would not name to protect the victim’s identity – at about 3 p.m.
He used a silver handgun to force the worker – who was alone in the spa – into a back room, where he sexually assaulted her, police said.
The woman was treated at a nearby hospital.
The fingerprints date back to Johnson’s 1977 arrest and conviction for first-degree rape in Syracuse, police sources said.
Johnson, who has a scar on his chin, was described as black, about 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds.
His last known address was on East 4th Street, sources said.
He has worked as a janitor in Maspeth, Queens.
