OPRAH STILL REIGNS AS TV QUEEN

Oh! Oh! Oprah!

Americans continue to have a heated love affair with the Queen of Daytime Talk – once again choosing her as their favorite TV personality in 2005.

Oprah Winfrey was not only No. 1 for the three previous years, but it’s the sixth time in 12 years that she’s topped the annual Harris Poll.

Jon Stewart and David Letterman swapped places, with Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” host ranking No. 2, and CBS’s Letterman dropping to No. 3.

And while the “Tonight Show’s” Jay Leno consistently whacks Letterman in the ratings, the opposite is true here. Leno was tied for No. 4 with Fox News talker Bill O’Reilly, who was No. 8 in 2004.

Daytime host Ellen DeGeneres moved up one spot to No. 6.

NBC’s Conan O’Brien made his debut on the list at No. 7, while ABC’s George Lopez was up for the first time at No. 9.

Jerry Seinfeld returned at No. 8, after last being on the list in 2000 – possibly thanks to a DVD release of his classic sitcom.

Tim Allen took the No. 10 spot, after last appearing at No. 7 in 1999, the year his sitcom, “Home Improvement,” ended.
