Less than a week after three high-school students pleaded guilty to nearly blinding a boy in a Halloween egg-tossing prank, a fourth teen avoided charges when a Long Island grand jury refused to indict her.
Jury members decided there wasn’t enough evidence to indict Gillian Grieco, 17, on assault and harassment charges.
Her three egg-tossing pals, however, pleaded guilty last week. Matthew Lerner, Rafael Stern and Scott Glassberg, all 17, each will receive probation and 150 hours of community service for the prank, officials said.
“I don’t think we acted any differently than any other teenagers on Halloween,” Grieco told reporters. “It was an accident and nobody intended for it to turn out that way.”
