A troubled knife-wielding teen lunged at a transit officer in a Brooklyn subway station yesterday, in a failed bid to commit “suicide by cop,” police sources said.
Roland Carrasco, 19, entered the Liberty Avenue station in East New York at about 4:53 p.m. and approached the 36-year-old veteran cop. He brandished a serrated steak knife and menaced the officer, the sources said.
The cop fired one shot, but missed.
During the ensuing struggle, Carrasco suffered a head injury. He was in stable condition at Brookdale Hospital.
Carrasco had told someone in the station that he wanted to commit “suicide by cop,” according to the sources.
