PRIDE HEAD TO ALASKA

Hofstra, fresh off a 26-7 season which ended in the NIT quarterfinals, will play in the Great Alaska Shootout in Anchorage Nov. 23-25. The Pride, who could well be ranked in the preseason polls, will play at Manhattan College Nov. 18 before heading to Alaska to face Hawaii in the tournament’s opener.

Hofstra, because of the three extra contests in Alaska, is allowed to – but doesn’t have to – reach the 30-game mark this season. The Pride have 29 scheduled thus far, including a Dec. 22 date at Syracuse and a Dec. 28 tilt vs. Saint Joseph’s in the Holiday Festival at the Garden.

The Pride will boast the nation’s highest scoring backcourt, as seniors Loren Stokes and Carlos Rivera and junior Antoine Agudio return. The trio averaged 46.3 points per game last season.
