A fiend who sexually assaulted a woman in Hell’s Kitchen has been caught on tape.
The man was captured on surveillance cameras Sunday when he accosted the 21-year-old woman as she returned home at 2:15 a.m.
As she opened an interior door to her apartment building in the West 40s, the thug pushed her to the ground and sodomized her.
The attacker was described as Hispanic, in his 20s, wearing a blue polo shirt and blue jeans. He is about 5-foot-4, weighs about 155 pounds and has black, closely cropped hair.
The attack terrified women who live in the rapidly gentrifying neighborhood.
“It makes me not want to hang out around here,” said a 28-year-old woman who works in the fashion industry. “Anywhere near the West Side Highway after a certain time is sketchy.”
A woman who works as a bartender in the area said, “You have to try to stay alert, don’t get too drunk and never be alone.”
