Rockefeller drug-law reform crusader Elaine Bartlett – pardoned by Gov. Pataki in 2000 only to be rearrested last year and charged with hiding her murdering, drug-dealing husband from cops – won another reprieve yesterday when a Manhattan jury deadlocked on the new charges.
Prosecutors vowed to retry Bartlett, 49, for allegedly hindering prosecution.
Bartlett became a poster child for drug-law reform, touring the country with her story of 16 years in prison for agreeing to deliver four ounces of cocaine in return for $2,500. She said she needed the money to feed her four kids.
