Their love is cold, but the ice was plenty hot.
More than 100 of the dazzling jewels given Ellen Barkin by Revlon billionaire Ron Perelman brought in more than $16 million last night for the spurned actress at Christie’s auction house.
A Cartier “Tank Cintree” wristwatch, estimated at $2,000-$4,000 sold for $40,000.
A pair of diamond-encrusted gold bracelets by Van Cleef & Arpels, estimated at $15,000-$20,000, attracted a pre-emptive bid of $50,000.
The highest bid came off the final lot – an oval-cut, 22.76-carat diamond ring, estimated at $800,000 to $1.2 million, that sold for $1.6 million.
Barkin, 52, said the rocks the bald baron gave her during their five-year marriage just didn’t mean that much to her – though she reportedly hoped they’d double her $20 million divorce settlement.
“I can’t think about all that jewelry without thinking about him. Nothing about those thoughts are positive, and I don’t want to say anything bad about him,” she told The Post’s Cindy Adams last Sunday.
The 102 lots carried presale estimates ranging from a dirt-cheap $300 for a wristwatch to seven figures for dazzling pieces, like a 30.8-carat diamond, estimated at $1 million-$1.5 million, that sold for $1.6 million.
“I was an accessory, being accessorized,” Barkin bitterly complained after Perelman locked her out of their East Side townhouse.
But one woman’s accessory is another’s treasure, as many lots far exceeded their estimates.
Dealers and Barkin fans, some from as far away as Hong Kong, vied for her pricey jewels.
Top sellers included a set of cultured pearl bracelets – worth an estimated $1,000-$1,500 – that went for $13,000. The unhappy bride’s wedding band, estimated to fetch $50,000, was sold for $130,000.
A 17-carat diamond pendant necklace was a steal at $440,000 after it was estimated at $600,000-$800,000.
Even the cheaper lots were dazzling. An antique diamond bracelet, estimated to bring between $8,000 and $12,000, was sold for $8,500.
