Ninety-five percent of the FDNY’s 200 fire engines contain a “defect” that critically injured a firefighter last May, the firefighters union says.
“We’re risking the health and safety of New York City firefighters,” said Uniformed Firefighters Association President Steve Cassidy.
Cassidy said the door latches on Seagrave rigs caused a fireman to be thrown from his vehicle on the Lower East Side.
FDNY brass say the charge is baseless.
